What are Apprenticeships?
The ApprenticeshipNI (AppNI) programme has been introduced to meet the needs of both young people, adults and businesses. They offer quality work based training as an alternative to full time study, leading to nationally recognised qualifications.
Apprenticeships are government funded training programmes (no financial cost to the organisation or employee) that deliver Vocationally Recognised Qualifications (VRQ’s) and National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s) in a range of areas.
Each apprenticeship is made up of a framework with 3 elements,
- NVQ units
- Technical Certificate or ERR Booklet
- Essential Skills. (All candidates need to complete the essential skills workshops unless they can produce GCSE certificates in Maths & English grades A-C, also in ICT for some occupational areas).
The programme usually takes between 9 to 15 months to complete and is dependable on each employee going to class and producing the relevant work.
The areas we deliver apprenticeship in are: (link to framework documents)
- Administration
- Care
- Childcare
- Contact Centre
- Customer Services
- Management
- Retail
- Warehousing & Distribution
