People 1st Heather McBride receives LSDA Trainer Award

Heather McBride, Essential Skills Coordinator at DFPF Ltd has recently been awarded with The Outstanding Achievement in Training Award by LSDA NI at their recent Annual Conference in Galgorm Manor.  The Award was given to recognise the positive impact the individual has had on learning, and their special qualities and attributes. 

DFPF (trading as Dairy Farm Training and People 1st) operates from 4 sites in Belfast, Banbridge and Lisburn and delivers training to upwards of 1200 learners, with almost 90% of these requiring Essential Skills learning and support.  Heather started with the organisation in 1999 a volunteer tutor.  She is now currently employed as the centre manager of the People 1st office in Banbridge.  In addition, for the past 6 years, she has also had the responsibility of coordinating Essential Skills across the whole organisation. 

This recent accolade recognises the work and commitment Heather gives to her role and is extremely well deserved. Bernie Daly, General Manager DFPF Ltd congratulated Heather by adding “This is not just for Heather’s work in delivering training to learners who join our training programmes – she has driven the organisation and the Essential Skills staff  at DFPF to high levels of assessment and achievement and it is worthy that this should be rewarded by LSDA’s national award.”
