This course is for you if you would like to make a start in the hair and beauty sector. You’ll learn about the industry, working safely and professionally in a salon, and working with others. You’ll also develop some skills and gain experience.
To give you an understanding of this course, topics include:

• Follow health and safety in the salon
• Working with others in the hair and beauty sector
• Nail art application
• Styling men’s hair
• Styling women’s hair

You could go on and complete a Level 2 Diploma in Barbering, Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy and even do further study. Progression in employment opportunities are varied and include salon junior, hair stylist, barber, beauty therapist, make-up artist, nail technician, salon manager, receptionist, salon owner. There are also specialist salons, clinics, health farms, health and fitness clubs, leisure centres, hotels, facilities aboard cruise liners, theatre, film/video/television make-up departments and studios, fashion and photographic settings, hospitals, mobile salons, consultancy.
