NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership

Course Description

This level will suit you if you've worked in the hospitality industry for some time - you have plenty of experience, and you might already supervise others or manage resources. You want to develop your knowledge and skills, perhaps to move into a management role within the sector. You complete five core units:

  •          Lead a team to improve customer service
  •          Develop productive working relationships with colleagues
  •          Provide leadership for your team
  •          Contribute to the control of resources
  •          Maintain the health, hygiene, safety and security of the working environment.

You also choose several optional units from a wide range that includes:

  •          Supervise reception services
  •          Provide learning opportunities for colleagues
  •          Contribute to the development of a wine list
  •          Contribute to promoting hospitality services and prod

It will cover topics such as:

  •          Leadership
  •          Working relationships
  •          Customer service
  •          Resource control
  •          Health, safety and hygiene
  •          Portering and concierge
  •          Reception, reservations and bookings.                                 

Duration

12 - 24 months depending on course and individual circumstances

Assessment

Oral and written unit assessments through student portfolio with practical vocational observation by a qualified Assessor; Witness Testimonies and Professional Discussion.

Entry Requirements

18 – 24 years old working 21 hrs or above in a relevant job role

All aged groups, must be employed or working voluntary in a relevant job role

Progression Routes

This qualification can lead to further and higher qualifications within the hospitality industry as well as various management courses.
